The Band
Jumpin' Juice formed in Kulmbach — a small brewery town in northern Bavaria — back in 1996. Guitar, bass, drums and accordion: all still part of their sound today.
Across their self-released records they built a sound they only half-jokingly called heavy-hardcore-unplugged-mourning-folk: 80s wave bleeding into chaos and old-school hardcore, a Dischord-style melody, and a streak of melancholy running underneath. More for the head than the dancefloor.
They turned down a Hamburg label deal to keep doing it their own way, got played on Bayern 3 anyway, and have quietly outlasted most of the venues they started in.
